FAQ

What is the maximum weight that your systems can transport?

We have different systems for different payloads in our product range that handle the corresponding requirements with stability and efficiency. Our systems can transport loads up to 150kg, 500kg and 3500kg. We can also offer special solutions for loads up to 7.5 tonnes.

Is it possible to combine both driven and manual sections in one system?

Yes, it is possible to use both driven and manual sections in one system.

Is it possible to run different sections at different speeds?

Yes, it is possible to drive sections at different speeds also forwards and backwards.

What is the maximum speed you can achieve in your systems?

The maximum speeds our systems can achieve are between 30m/min. (OCS 500) and 80m/min. (OCS 150).

What radius and angles of curves are available?

It is possible to have a radius of 400mm or 500mm for a curve, with an exit angle of between 15°- 180°.

How does the output work from one path to another?

Here we use switches with 45 ° or 90 ° exit. It is possible to implement an exit to either the left or right in the direction of travel.

Is it possible to have incline and decline sections?

Yes, incline and decline sections are possible up to 25° depending on the load weight.

How many meters of conveyor line can be driven by one motor unit?

We normally use worm gearmotors with 0.37 – 0.5 kW. A motor unit can drive a straight conveyor line of up to 25m.

How does the trolley move?

This is different from system to system. Generally, our systems are based on the friction driven principle. For example, our OCS 500 System is equipped with four wheels running on a steel profile. The drive unit consists of four angled wheels which in turn are pushed against a rotating aluminum tube; the trolley is driven forward by the friction that occurs.

Are the product carriers below the trolley individually designed?

Yes, the product carriers are individually designed based on each customer’s needs and requirements. Of course, we also take into consideration the wide range of experiences from past projects to develop the optimal solution together with the customer.

What is the noise level of your systems?

Our systems are very quiet and stay below the limits required.

How much maintenance is required for the systems?

Depending on size and complexity of the system, we usually recommend an annual maintenance check. In this course, normal wear parts are replaced and all components are checked to work properly. Generally, our systems do not require much maintenance; for example, our systems are lubrication free.

Is it possible to easily expand or rebuild an existing system?

Due to the use of modular components, it is possible to expand or rebuild an existing system in a simple, fast and straightforward manner.

Is it possible to have the Power & Free feature in the systems?

Yes, trolleys with a specially developed Power & Free feature enable flexible buffering on driven tracks with loads up to 200kg.

Which PLC programming system do you use?

Normally we use the Siemens S7 system. Of course, we may use any of the other systems, such as a Mitsubishi PLC system, as needed.

Do you offer RFID systems?

Yes, OCS offers RFID systems with tags and readers. The RFID system is connected to the PLC program via a separate network. The trolleys are equipped with RFID tags to ensure the traceability of the system.

What industries does OCS already have systems installed in?

With more than 40 years of experience, OCS has installed systems in almost all industries. For example, the automotive industry, surface treatment, the consumer goods industry (including furniture and bicycle production, among others) as well as the food industry.
